Specializing in providing management and financial services to site based general managers, staff and boards; HGM developed a national reputation for assisting associations in transition or with unique challenges in becoming well run, operated, managed and governed communities. The company changed its name to Hiban & Graffius Management, Ltd. in 1990, was awarded an Approved Management Organization (AMO) designation by the Institute of Real Estate Management in 1993 and Approved Association Management Company (AAMC) in 1997 by the Community Associations Institute (CAI).

HGM organized and established the initial management and association-governing services for many of the areas most distinguished newly created community associations such as River Place Cooperatives and the Atrium Condominium. Over the last two decades HGM successful assisted over twenty associations in developer to unit owners control transitions.

Over the last two decades HGM built a reputation for innovative and quality service to over 50 associations communities. Included were such award winning communities as Parkside Condominium in Bethesda Maryland, a three time local and national winner in the 1990’s of the Community Association of the Year Award presented by the Community Associations Institute (CAI). The Waterford Condominium of Kensington, 1994 local and national first place recipient of the CAI award, Braddock Place of Alexandria 1995 local winner and national runner up and Marina Tower Condominium of Alexandria a 1993 local chapter award winner.
